He retired from ALCOA with 43 years of service and was a member of their 25 Year Club. He was a Mason with Rockford Lodge # 469 F.&A.M. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Preceded in death by: wife, Johnnie Imogene Riggs; parents, George & Flora Riggs; brothers, Burnette, Clayton, Carl, George & Walter; sisters, Minnie Holston, Mattie Harless & Arizona Keeble. Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Jerry L. & Marilyn Riggs of Seymour; daughter & son-in-law, Jeanie & Robert Coulter of Morristown; grandchildren, Bryan Coulter, Kimberly (Riggs) Wright & husband James C.Wright, Neal Coulter, Jill (Riggs) Purvis & husband Timothy A. Purvis; great-grandchildren, Garris Coulter and Ella Grace Purvis; sister, Lovanna & Charles Ivey of Maryville; brother-in-law, Edgar Keeble & wife Jean of Seymour; several very special nieces and nephews.
