GIBSON, JIMMY RAY, SR. - age 64 of Seymour, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at his home. Jimmy was an active member of Grace Baptist Church and gave much of his time to help the church. Mr. Gibson had great interest in repairing old cars. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. All those lives he touched will miss his gentle caring nature and kindness. He is preceded in death by: parents, Robert Dykes Gibson and Edith Compton Gibson; one sister, Jackie Lois Smith; one sister-in-law, Virginia Gibson; two brothers-in-law, Sidney McNutt and Jim McCarter. Survived by: his wife, Vivian Ann Gibson; one daughter, Kristi Ann Gibson Hall and husband Julian; two sons, Jimmy Ray Gibson, Jr. and wife Connie of Powell, David Gibson and wife Pam of Seymour; Four grandchildren, Clint Ray Gibson, Ryan Ray Gibson, Shelby Grace Gibson and Carley Joy Gibson; eight sisters, Imogene McNutt of Knoxville, Freda McCarter of Knoxville, Charlotte Cannon and husband Poe of Seymour, Doris McNutt and husband Robert of Knoxville, Mary Lewelling and husband Ted of Knoxville, Glenda Johnson and husband Dan of Hendersonville, TN, Patricia Gibson of Memphis, TN, Barbara Brink and husband Tommy of Horn Lake, Miss.: three brothers, Robert Gibson of Seymour, Michael Gibson and wife Rhysanne of Knoxville, Ricky Gibson and wife Dawn of Kingston, TN and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Grace Baptist Church Seymour on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 7 p.m. with Pastor Ed Cloud officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Memorial Park on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. for graveside and committal services. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Grace Baptist Church Seymour.
