Thomas, Sr., William "Cotton", age 71, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Maryville. Preceded in death by parents, John and Ollie Thomas; brothers, George Thomas, Carl Thomas; sister, Trula Midkiff. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Dorothy Fuller Thomas; sons, William Thomas, Jr. and wife Tonya; Timothy Thomas and wife Melissa; Randy Thomas and friend Sherri Mathes; grandchildren: Courtney, Jeremy, Dylan, Blake, Nathaniel, Megan and husband Jay Zartman, Jordan, Brandon and wife Amy, and Tyler; great-grandchildren: Kylee, and Karly; brothers, Clyde and wife Naomi, James, Willie and wife Dorothy, Fred and wife Joyce; sister, Virginia Trydell; special sister-in-law, Linda Welch and husband Victor; his friends at Harmony Baptist Church; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2:00 PM Saturday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dennis Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
