Dorothy Jean (Dunlap) Robertson, age 80, of Seymour, joined her loved ones and savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at UT Medical Center. She was a greatly esteemed and loved mother, grandmother and friend. Born to the late Clyde and Bessie (Maples) Dunlap on October 4, 1931, Dorothy was a homemaker for most of her life and faithful member of New Castle Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school classes for many years. She and her two sisters, Josephine and Shirley, also made up the gospel singing group The Dunlap Sisters, which started in her teenage years and stretched until just last year. She will be sadly missed most of all because of her unconditional love for her family, friends, and her Christ-like self-denial and esteem of others before herself. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Robertson; and son, Walter Robertson Jr. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lillian Robertson, Gary and Jan Robertson; grandchildren, David (Ashley) Robertson Jr., John (Nicole) Robertson, Davina (Benji) Smith, April (Dirk) Chandler; great-grandchildren, Emilee, Sarah, Wesley, Grant, and Ella Robertson, Colby and Cadence Smith, Natalie Chandler; brother and sister-in-law, John and Janice Dunlap; sisters, Josephine Butler and Shirley Partain. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Prospect Cemetery, 519 Prospect Road, Walland, with the Rev. Freddie Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at Dotson Funeral Home, 4838 Wildwood Road, Wildwood. Online condolences may be sent to (dotsonfh@yahoo.com) Arrangements by Dotson Funeral Home, Wildwood, 984-5959.
