Walter Clay Williamson, age 77, passed away at Baptist Convalescent Center on Monday, September 24. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jethro and Belva McGaha Williamson and Margaret Hunter Williamson; brother, Clyde Williamson; and sister, Irene Hartsell. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Earl) Woody; brothers, Claude (Betty Ann), Johnson City; Clayton, Cleo (Dean), Clinton (Kaye), Charles (Lana), Parrottsville; Carl (Cathy), Gay (Carol), all of Newport; sisters, Girlene Breeden, Newport; Nancy (Bob) Hamilton, Charlotte, N.C.; Earnestine (Wayne) Butler, Cosby; Faye (Lloyd) Webb, Cleveland, Ohio; Lola (Felix) Matthews, Stevenson, Alabama. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 25, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Raines and Cleo Williamson officiating. Interment will be in Williams Cemetery. Friends and family will meet at the home of Clayton Williamson, his special caregiver. Brown Funeral Home in charge.
