He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin Eugene and Claire Mae Garrett, brothers Joe and Welton Garrett, sister Jeanette Gantt, father and mother-in-law Troy D. and Bonnie Byrd. Survivors: Wife of 29 years: Patricia Garrett Daughters: Tammy (Jody) Pruitt, Rhonda Harris, and Sondra Corum, all of North Carolina Step-Son: Chuck (Brenda) Loveday of Kodak Grandchildren: Joey Cook, Christy (Tommy) Wells, Alexandria Stokes, Daniel Stokes, Tiffany Lane, and Dayna Davis Great Grandchildren: Savannah Pruitt and Erabella Wells Sisters: Della (Charles) Totherow, Geraldine Hoover, and Betty Stevenson all of South Carolina Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends Beloved pet and companion: Buddy Funeral service 7 PM Friday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev.
