John "Wiley" Hodges passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014. He was born in Sevier County on January 9, 1924 to Tom and Nellie (Manis) Hodges. He was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church, previously belonging to First Baptist, Maryville and Cumberland Baptist in Knoxville. He was preceded in death by a Son, Larry Wayne Hodges, parents, Thomas and Nellie (Manis) Hodges; brothers, Theodore, Hurbert, Winford, Cecil, Paul. He is survived by his wife, Loraine Galyon Hodges. They would have been married 68 years on December 18. Also survived by a daughter, Vicki Gregory (Corvallis, Oregon); sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Rose Ann Hodges (Knoxville) and Donald and Cynthia Hodges (Maryville); grandchildren, Robin (Maureen) Hodges (Asheville, North Carolina), Glendon (Janet) Hodges (Minneapolis, Minnesota), Corrinna Hodges (Raleigh, North Carolina), Andrew Hodges (Maryville) Kari Gregory (Corvallis, Oregon), Alison Hodges (Maryville), Katie Gregory (Corvallis, Oregon), Deidre Hodges (Denver, Colorado), and Casey Hodges (Knoxville); and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Wiley and Maggie Rose Hodges (Ashville, North Carolina). Also surviving are brother, Ray (Louise) Hodges and sister, Martha Patterson, both of Knoxville, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Smith West Chapel. Interment services will be private.
