T. C.”Buck” Cowart, Sr., age 86 of Pigeon Forge, died Monday, October 1, 2001.
He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge. Mr. Cowart was a retired highway engineer, having served 36 years as a federal employee with the Federal Highway Administration. After retirement he was a registered land surveyor for 20 years in North Carolina and Tennessee.
Mr. Cowart was a member of the Pigeon Forge Rotary Club, served 22 years on the Pigeon Forge Planning Commission and was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc.
Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by his parents John Thomas and Olivia Cartin Cowart, brothers James and Brooks Cowart , both of Swainsboro, GA and sister Gladys Cowart Bedingfield of Nunez, GA.

Wife of 61 years: Gladys C. Cowart, Sevierville,TN
Sons: Thomas C. Cowart, Jr. and wife Alesia of Sevierville,TN; Randal V. Cowart and wife Bonnie of Seattle, Washington
Granddaughter: Kerala Cowart
Sister: Ruby Blizzard of Swainsboro, GA
Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge with Rev. W. W. Cope officiating. Interment 10 AM Friday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge, TN.
