Shirley Sterling born to Junior & Nona Ownby on Jan. 19 1947, Shirley passed away on the afternoon of Oct. 28 2009 with her family near, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her husband Eddie (Fuzzy) Sterling of 44 years, her 2 son's and their families, Shane- Jolene, Josh, Ethan & Addie Sterling. Travis- Cheryl, Blaine, Katy Sterling. Her Mother Nona Ownby , her sisters Velta Harwood & Joyce Ownby & their families. She was preceded in death by her Father, beloved rabbit lightning. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She worked for the Meridian School district for 17 years in the ot/pt department, making many special friends. Shirley was also very active in the Hand weaver's guild of Boise valley, and also in years past she was a member of Ee-Da-How long rifles. Shirley attended Dagget creek school and graduated from Boise High, she had a great love of the outdoors, hiking and camping and fishing all of which she did with her family and friends. Another love was her 5 grandchildren, she loved spending time with them laughing and teaching them so many of her special skills. Shirley attended Cole Community Church for the last 35 years. Services will be held there November 7th, at 12:00 pm. The family wants to thanks St. Luke's Hospice for all the wonderful care and help. Shirley asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Missions at Cole Community Church in her name.
