He was employed at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevier County, received his funeral directors license in 1972, then came to work at Miller Funeral Home in 1974. He was an avid fisherman and spent much of his time on the water and he never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Ogle and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife, Sharon and little “fur-baby”, Barney; extended family, Mike, Leslie, Sydney and Charli Whaley; sisters and brothers in law, Helen and David Dalton and Evelyn and Aud Morgan; mother in law, Jean Stroud; his special family at Miller funeral Home and a host of friends he had made through his journey in life. J.D. will be remembered for the special work he did and his kind and compassionate heart. A special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice and especially our angel Penny Kirkland.
