WATSON , JAMES ALFRED, SR. - age 82, lifelong resident of Sevier County, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 6, 2003, at Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a 49 year member of Sevier Masonic Lodge #334 F&AM, Knoxville Scottish Rite (32nd Degree). He proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II, serving in Germany and France, as Sergeant of the 100th Division Ground Infantry, where he received two bronze stars. He was retired from Kern's Bakery. Survived by wife of 56 years, Euphrasia daughter, Fay Brewer son, James A. Watson , Jr. and wife, Donna daughter, Sue Wilkerson and husband, Carl son, Tony Watson and wife, Nicole grandchildren, Brahm , Patrick, James III, and Rhea, and great-grandchildren, Chance and Simone. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Bernard and the nursing staff of Baptist Hospital for their care and compassion over the years. Family and friends will meet at Zion Lutheran Cemetery on Dick Ford Lane, Thursday for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Terry Parton officiating. Full military honors by Volunteer State Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday with Masonic service at 8:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. "Papaw, hold Brahmie until we get there !"
