Billy Lee Kirby, 62, of Jeffersonville, Ind., passed away, Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at his home.
He was a native of Sevier County, a self-employed upholsterer for many years, a supervisor with KFI, an avid guitar player and bluegrass musician and an Army veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Houston and Stella Kirby, and Edith Abrams; father Glen Kirby and brothers Joe and Tony Kirby.
Survivors include his Mom, Wanda Abrams Kirby of Sevier County; son, David Kirby and his wife Christi of Clarksville, Ind.; daughters, Lisa Heiser and husband Tom of Louisville, Ky.; Laura Kirby of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; brothers, Terry Kirby and wife Lois, Kenneth Kirby and wife Karen, Jimmy Kirby and wife Brenda, all of Sevier County; sister, Teresa Childress and husband Roger of Sevier County.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at Oak City Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Berrier officiating. Interment will follow in Boyds Creek Cemetery.
