Kenneth Earl Cannon, 87, of Sevierville, formerly of Knox County and Oak Ridge, TN was greeted by his Savior on Thursday, February 8, 2018. He was a member of Lyons Creek Baptist Church. Kenneth was a Veteran of the Korean War and served honorably in the United States Army. Together, he and his wife enjoyed camping and hiking in many National Parks, and traveling to all fifty states and many foreign countries. Kenneth serviced grocery stores in Anderson County for 30 years as the Nabisco Sales Representative.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Cannon; brothers, Jim Cannon, Gordon Cannon, and Max Cannon; sister, Jane Rule; and his son, Larry Cannon.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Cate Cannon of Sevierville, TN; daughter, Suzanne (Tom) Newman of Sevierville, TN; grandchildren, Reid and Brady Cannon of Harriman, TN, Thomas and Rebekah Newman of Sevierville, TN; brothers, Wayne (June) Cannon, and Harry (Delores) Cannon; sister-in-law, Ruth Cannon; sisters, Earlene Tuggle, and Sue (A.C.) Haggard; loyal caregiver, John Beeler; and a host of extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lyons Creek Baptist Church, 9235 Strawberry Plains Pike, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm Sunday, February 11th with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4pm in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Eulogies will be delivered by the family. Family and friends will meet at 11am Monday at the Chapel of Oak Ridge Memorial Park for the graveside service and entombment in the Reflections Mausoleum.
