William Joseph “Bill” Doane, Sr., age 72 of Kodak, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2007, while surrounded by his wife and children. Prior to becoming a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, he attended Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle for several years. He retired from Cameron and Barkley.
He was preceded in death by his parents John W. and Blanche Breeden Doane, brother Clarence (Ed) Doane, and sisters Alberta Maples and Dorothy Miles.
He is survived by his:
Wife: Shirley E. (Pollard) Doane
Daughters and son-in-law: Joan Elizabeth and Don Covington, Tammy Kay Parrish
Sons and daughters-in-law: Allen Ray and Beverly Doane, William Joseph and Dreama Doane, Jr., Amos Wesley “Buddy” and Cindy Doane, James Thomas “Tom” and Kim Doane
Grandchildren: Michael, Holly, Rachael, Phillip, Tabitha and husband Mark, Nikki, Katie, Caleb, Haley, and Courtney
Sister: Iris Webb
He will be dearly missed by his special babies, Lady and Booger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Beech Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 337 West Mount Road, Kodak, Tennessee 37764.
Funeral service 2 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Koster, Pastor Joe Hutchinson, and Rev. Seth Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Springs Cemetery.
