Canton- Leonard Calvin “L.C.” Parrott – age 80 died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at his residence.
He was a native of Knoxville, TN but had lived in Haywood County for the past 50 years. He was a son of the late Arley and Mary Knight Parrott and was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Parrott and a brother, George Parrott. He was employed by Champion International Papers as a machine operator for 30 years and retired in 1988. Mr. Parrott was a very active member of First Methodist Church of Canton and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also an army Veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Cody Parrott; father, James T. Parrott, Sr.; two sons, Michael Parrott and his wife Dr. Margaret Corwin of Timnath, CO and Jim Parrott and his wife Peggy of Greenville, SC; one brother James T. Parrott and his wife Eleanor of Knoxville, TN and three grandchildren, Lindsay Suzanne Parrott, Jason Corwin and Jessica Widener.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Alice Day officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 57 Wesley Street, Canton.
