Rex Parrott, age 86 of Knoxville, died Sunday February 13, 2005 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
Rex was a welder for Norfolk Shipbuilding before entering the Navy and serving in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He worked the balance of his life as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cassie Emert and J.O. Parrott; his second daughter, Judith Parrott; all of his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his oldest daughter Ruby Daye of Gloucester, Virginia and her sons: Arnold Daye and his wife Vanessa of Hopewell, Virginia and Jeffery Daye of Newport News, Virginia and daughter Lisa Williams and her son Jesse of Sevierville. Sister-in-law: Pauline Parrott, the widow of his brother Herbert of Ellenton, South Carolina, Devoted nephews: Delegate Harry Brooks and his wife Mary of Knoxville and Jimmie Henderson and his wife Carrie of Sevierville and nieces and nephews from Sevier County, Michigan, Florida, Texas, and Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Family and friends will meet 1 PM Tuesday, February 15 at Bethel Cemetery for graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
