He was preceded in death by his daughters and son-in-law, Theresa Parker and Gail and Eugene Millsaps; son, Dan Parker; grandson, Stephen Yates; and parents, Hugh and Julia Parker. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leila Parker; granddaughters, Becky Irwin, Stephanie (Scott) Sowers, and Misty (Darin) Carver; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Katie) Keller, Lucas Keller, Jonathan Hoy, Amanda (A. J.) McCormick, Anna Irwin, Chaz (Lori) Parker,Danny Yates, and Audra Morton; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Grover Bolden officiating. Family and friends will gather 1:00 PM Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
