Pickel, Gary Lee age 71 of Kingston passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at his home. He was a member of New Midway Baptist Church. Gary was an Instrument Mechanic at K-25 for 39 years. A veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean War.
Preceded in death by father, Walter Pickel; brothers, J. W. Pickel and Paul Pickel.
Survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Perkey Pickel; sons, Scott Pickel and wife, Annette of Kingston, Bryan Pickel of New Hampshire; daughter, Carol Myers and husband, Pat of Sevierville; grandchildren, Leslie Myers, Nick Myers and Matt Laughery; mother, Erma Green Pickel; brother, Clarence Pickel of Kingston; sister, Agnes Norman and husband, Ralph of Alabama; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Carolyn Perkey; sister-in-laws, Carolyn Hutcheson and Peggy Pickel; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky and Tommy Crox; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Albert Griffin and Rev. Wayne Provence will officiate. Family and friends will gather at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to New Midway Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Military honors will be conferred at the graveside. Serving as pallbearers: Jeff Crox, Tim Perkey, Bob Moore, Donnie Pickel, Max Norman, and Mark Norman. Honorary Pallbearers will be First Cousins.
