Pickel, Gary Lee age 71 of Kingston passed away Sunday, February 29, 2004 at his home. He was a member of New Midway Baptist Church. Gary was an Instrument Mechanic at K-25 for 39 years. A veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean War.
Preceded in death by father, Walter Pickel; brothers, J. W. Pickel and Paul Pickel.
Survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Perkey Pickel; sons, Scott Pickel and wife, Annette of Kingston, Bryan Pickel of New Hampshire; daughter, Carol Myers and husband, Pat of Sevierville; grandchildren, Leslie Myers, Nick Myers and Matt Laughery; mother, Erma Green Pickel; brother, Clarence Pickel of Kingston; sister, Agnes Norman and husband, Ralph of Alabama; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Carolyn Perkey; sister-in-laws, Carolyn Hutcheson and Peggy Pickel; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky and Tommy Crox; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Albert Griffin and Rev. Wayne Provence will officiate. Family and friends will gather at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to New Midway Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Military honors will be conferred at the graveside. Serving as pallbearers: Jeff Crox, Tim Perkey, Bob Moore, Donnie Pickel, Max Norman, and Mark Norman. Honorary Pallbearers will be First Cousins. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Gary Pickel.
