MIZE, GEORGE FRANKLIN - born February 14, 1924, died Friday, February 12, 2002 at Baptist Hospital. He was a retired barber of Tri County Barber Shop. His preference of faith was Jehovah's Witnesses. Survived by: his wife of 57 years Pauline Witenbarger Mize; children, Shirley Thornhill and JC Thornhill; M. Phyllis Manis and Vaughn Manis, Jr., Brenda Carter and Joseph Carter, Jr.; grandchildren, Angie Thornhill and Chuck Cook, Russell and Cindy Manis, Gina and Steve Walker, Stacie and Philip Dixon, Carrie and Mark Gibson, Dustin and Linda Carter, Cody and Lucas Dodson; a sister, Mary Jane Manes; and three brothers, Luther Mize, Charles Mize and Joe Mize. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 13, 2002 from 5-7 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Highland South Chapel, with Elders, Gerald and Les Johnson to conduct the service. Interment will be in the Highland South Mausoleum on Thursday, February 14, 2002 10 a.m. The honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Highland South Funeral Home has arrangements, 577-7300.
