Hux, Grace Irene Messer – age 76 of Kodak passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Member of New Beverly Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church. She was a loving babysitter who helped raise many children. She was a former employee of C & S Laundry. Preceded in death by husband of 57 years, Billy Ray Hux; parents, James and Minnie Messer; grandson, Gregory Andrew Hux; and brother-in-law, Bobby Manis. Survived by sons, Brian E. Hux, and Jeffery Andrew Hux and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Tamara Nicole Hensley and Julia Grace Hux; great-grandchildren, Roland Scott “Deuce” Hensley II, Levi, Marcus, and Cadence; sisters, Betty Jean Manis, Vida Ruth Messer, Nellie Mae Justus and husband Oscar, and Gladys Marie Hansard; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Simmons officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
