Lindsey, Alfred Roscoe, age 76, born June 22, 1925, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2002. Member of South Knoxville Church of Christ. Veteran of the US Navy, WWII, having served in the South Pacific and Philippines on the USS O’Bannon. Preceded in death by parents, Roy Roscoe Lindsay and Jama Berry Lindsay; son, Kenneth Ray Lindsey; daughter, Alfreda Lindsey Jones; brothers, William Ellis (Abe) Lindsay, Sr. and Thomas F. Lindsey; sister Vera Lindsay Orick.
Survivors
Wife, Ellaree Loveday Lindsey; daughter and son-in-law, Lucretia & Dean Ford; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie A. and Tina Lindsey; son-in-law, Randy Jones, all of Knoxville; grand-daughters: Deana Caldwell of Rockford; Misty and Karen Ford of Knoxville; Christy McCall of Maryland; grandsons: Ryan Lindsey, US Marines, San Diego, CA; Patrick Lindsey of Morristown; Lucas Jones and Jeremiah Lindsey, both of Knoxville; great-grandchildren: Olivia and Garren Caldwell; sisters: Helen Sayne, Ruth Fields and Doris Triplett; brother, Roy B. Lindsay, Sr.; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Service
Funeral 1:00 PM Thursday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Tom Miller and Benny Hackler officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
