Herbert Frank Lawson, 71, of Sevierville passed away Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born and raised in Sevierville, Herb was a longtime volunteer of the Sevierville Fire Department following in his father’s footsteps who was an original member of the fire department. Besides his volunteering at the fire department, Herb was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville and the Rotary Club. As a young man Herb served in the U.S. Army. After his stint in the military, Herb returned to Sevierville where he was a partner in The Corner Store.
Herb was born to the late Fred Caton and Polly Taylor Lawson on December 7, 1933.
Leaving behind to celebrate his life, but mourning his passing are his brother, Fred Taylor Lawson and his wife Rose Mary of Sevierville; nephews, Thomas Lawson and wife Dina; Fred Haley Lawson and wife Deborah all of California; great nephews Daniel and Nicholas Lawson, both of California. Besides the immediate family Herb will be missed by the many dear friends he had made during his stay on this earth.
A celebration of Herb’s life will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005 in the Old Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville with Rev. Jerry Hyder and Rev. Scott Andrews officiating. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 14 at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13 at the Old Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville.
