Theodore “Ted” G. Newman, age 60 of Gatlinburg, late of Sevierville, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017. Ted was a compassionate man who always wanted to serve others. He received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and began a career helping troubled souls through hard times. Ted was always interested in new ideas, traveling, and trying new things. He loved music, art, playing guitar, chess, Civil War history, and Braves baseball. He had a wicked sense of humor and a sharp mind. Ted loved his family dearly. He was especially devoted to his mother, like any good Southern boy. His pets always had a special place in his heart. During his life, he made many dear friends he cherished, and who were there at the end to comfort and support him. He was a very kind and generous man who we will all miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Quintin and Dorothy C. Lawson Newman; grandparents, Wm. Giles and Alice Reagan Newman and Oliver and Hettie Robeson Lawson;

Nieces and Nephews: Jason Moore and wife, Stephanie, Erin Moore, Tyler Newman and wife, Jenna;

Aunt, Betty Lawson Coulter and husband, Max;
Many very close friends whose kindness is truly appreciated by his family.
