Brenda K. Smelcer Shults of Sevierville passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 27, 2015. She was a member of Murphy's Chapel Methodist Church. She was born in Sevierville, December 17, 1951 to Clay B. and Fayetta Smelcer. She had a 46 year career in banking and was employed by Citizens National Bank. She enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles and the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her Father Clay B. Smelcer, Grandmothers and Grandfathers Mr. & Mrs. Hugh (Blanche) Sharp, Mr. & Mrs. Ephriam (Lucretia) Smelcer, Mother and Father-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Lewis (Icaferne) Shults and Brother-in-law Richard G. (Dick) Kelch.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband Charles of 44 years, Mother Fayetta Smelcer, Brother Larry and his wife Geraldine, Sister-in-law Carolyn S. (Ann) Kelch, Niece Heather Kelch Johnson and husband Ashley and their children Reagan and Charleston, Nephews Neal Smelcer and Eric Kelch and wife Leslie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Murphy's Chapel Cemetery, 1790 Pittman Center Rd. Sevierville, TN 37876.
Pallbearers will be Brad Dalton, Larry Dalton, Ashley Johnson, Eric Kelch, Gary Loveday and Neal Smelcer.
The family will receive friends from 12 -3 PM Saturday, August 29 at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with graveside service to follow at Murphy's Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
