Darlene Turner Raines, age 61, of Newport, went to be with her loving savior on Sunday, June 7, 2015 after a long battle with lung disease. She was a member of Life and Praise Worship Center. She was a former employee of Food City Bakery until her illness forced her to retire, she loved her job and fellow coworker like family. Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Dale Turner; mother, Nellie Earnestine Loveday; sister, Betty M. Massey; aunt, AlFreda Sumner; niece, MacKenzie Truhitte; grandparents, Frank and Eula Mae Turner and Fred and Rowena Sawyer; brother-in-law, Buddy Ball; mother-in-law, Dorothy Raines; special uncles, Clealon Holt, Kenneth Raines, Charlie Raines, and J.C. Raines. Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Raines; daughter, Angela Henderson who was her caretaker and best friend; beloved son, Robert Dale Raines; beloved grandsons, Bryan and Matthew Henderson who took care of her and made her life wonderful; grandson, Justin Raines of Cosby; granddaughters, Abby and Emily Truhitte of Newport, Marcia Dalton, and Curtisey Payne; great-granddaughter, Chloie Dalton; beloved sisters and brother-in-law, Vickie and David Quinley of Jerome, Idaho, Sandy Spivery, and Rita Ball of Sevierville; brother, David Turner; stepsister, Gayle Myers of Greeneville; step brothers, Keith Pruitt and Pete Black of Cleveland, Tennessee, Michael Loveday of Florida, and Rodney Loveday of Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Steve Sitar of Ohio; stepmother, Betty Worth of Parrottsville; stepfather, Ron Loveday of Sevierville; beloved aunts and uncles, Bobby and Terry Sawyer, Cathy and Wayne Sawyer, and Mary Ethel Finchum of Newport; aunts Louise Bryant, Ann Raines, and Barbara Raines; cousins, Doyle Holt, Melanie Allen, and Fredna Wright of Newport; nieces, Jessica (Trent) Russell and Elizabeth Quinley of Jerome, Idaho, Rebecca (Josh) Newcomb of Sevierville, and Renee Truhitte of Newport; nephews, Alan Green, Kurstin Truhitte, Jacob Ball, and Jeff Lane; special friends, Rose Lovell, Edward and Jeanette Moore, Robert Huff, Phyllis Kerley, Cathy Bugg, and very good friend, Betty Lawson, and all her other co-workers from Food City whom she loved dearly. Special “Thank You” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the special fund at Tennessee State Bank account, Angela Henderson donations for Darlene Raines for expenses. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
