Brown, age 96 of Sevierville passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Brown attended Carson Newman College with classes at UT. A teacher for 45 years, she taught at Sevierville Elementary School for 35 years and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Sevierville where she served as Director of the Children’s Department for many years. She was also a member of Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Current Mission Group. Mrs. Brown also enjoyed her flower garden and was a member of the Manthano Club. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Buford A. Brown shortly after they had observed their 70th wedding anniversary, her mother Lillie Bradshaw Branam, stepfather W.E. Branam, father R.R. Stamey, and grandson Jeffery Keith Hardin. She leaves to mourn her passing: Daughter: Dortha Faye Hardin and husband Jack Grandchildren: Jimmy Hardin, Kevin Hardin and wife Laura, Michelle Hardin Great Grandchildren: Alexandria, Cooper and Lochlain Hardin Sisters: Beulah Lowe and husband Frank of Pigeon Forge, Evelyn Hendrix Nelson of Florence, AL Several nieces, nephews, cousins, many special friends, and several generations of students In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials by made to First Baptist Church, TV Ministry, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862 or to the charity of your choice. Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Friday in Shiloh Cemetery for interment. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hardin, Kevin Hardin, Dale Atchley, Wayne Atchley, Steve Hendrix, Jerry Hendrix, Bill Roemke, Jack Hardin, and Eddie Hendrix.
