April 13, 1923 - November 3, 2015
Resided in Sevierville, TN
Ray Chandler Henderson, Jr., age 92 of Sevierville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his beloved wife Tuesday, November 3, 2015. He was born April 13, 1923 and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. He loved and cherished his church family. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He especially adored his great grandsons every single day! Ray was a farmer and a very hard worker throughout all his life. He enjoyed driving his tractors and eating all the homegrown corn, tomatoes, cabbage, squash, and green beans that he grew in his garden. He had a very special love for all of his animals, especially his cattle and peacocks. He missed his wife and talked about their life together every day. They enjoyed wonderful vacations in Myrtle Beach and swimming in the ocean water. They also took many fun motorcycle rides when they were younger. One of his favorite memories was running away to get married in Rossville, Georgia. He always said she was the only one for him and that she was the best thing that ever happened to him. Now they are reunited in Heaven together and walking the streets of gold. Ray lived a long, happy, and very inspirational life. He was a person that people could look up to as a great example for how to live. He meant the world to those around him, he was one in a million.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Wanda Allen Henderson; parents, Ray and Rebecca (Leake) Henderson, in-laws, Sidon and Leona (Haynes) Allen, son-in-law, Sam Rolen, brothers-in-law, Lillard Allen, Bill Dixon, and Carl Hatcher, sister-in-law, Helen Allen, and nephew, Gale Allen.
Survivors:
Daughter: Linda Rolen;
Granddaughter: Latonya (Mark) Williamson;
Great-grandsons: Zachery Williamson and Parker Williamson;
Sister-in-law: Lucille Hatcher;
