Rev. Joe E. Bible was gathered by angels and carried to Heaven, Oct. 15th, 2009 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
He was greeted by friends and loved ones gone before. He carried the gospel for 40 years and pastored in Greene and Cocke Counties . Bro. Bible was the founder of Antioch Baptist Church and was still serving there until his home going.
He was proceeded in death by parents J. Emory and Harriett Bible, brother Jake Bible, grandson Nathan Witt, and son-in-law J.D. Wright.
He is survived by his wife Jean McMurray Bible of 55 years. Daughters, Charmaine (Johnny) Witt, Jodie Wright, Sons, Blake (Tammy) Bible, Rob (Tonya) Bible, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Bro. Bible will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Wells, Bro. Milburn Shelton, Bro. Donnie Harvey, and Bro. Wayne Dalton. The family will recieve firends from 5-8 pm Saturday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18th, 2009 at Stokely Chapel Cemetery.
Friends and family will meet 1:30 Sunday, October 18th, 2009 at Antioch Baptist Church for a life remembrance service.
Fellow ministers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Manes Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Bro. Joe E. Bible.
