Charlotte Ann Clark McBride, 73, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord and to join her loving husband, Tom McBride, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, September 11, 2016. She was born and raised in Sevierville, TN and retired from Sam’s Club. She attended school with Dolly Parton. She and Tom travelled out west, saw parts of the East Coast, went on cruises and to Alaska. Charlotte loved her family and enjoyed getting together with her cousins every year for a reunion. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a loving, kind person.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Homer Clark; sister, Shelby Scanlan; nephew, Danny Scanlan; father, Homer Clark; step-father, Oscar Ward; special aunts; and cousins.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Gina Eslinger and husband, James, Jama Trent and husband, Keith, and Kelly Watson and husband, Roger of Las Vegas, NV; sons, Tony Hoyles, and Scott McBride and wife, Jackie of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Jimmy, Chris, Kip, Kayla, Jessie, Tesha, Jacob, Kaylee, Faith and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Jamen, Lila, Layla, Thea, Autumn, and Skylar; mother, the amazing Grace Ward; brothers, Jerry Ward of Nashville, TN, Cecil Clark and wife, Ernestine, Jimmy Clark and wife, Sue of Panama City Beach, FL; and Smokey Ward; furry companion, “Bear”; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thanks to the extended family in Oklahoma for their wonderful support.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Kathy Tarwater officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 5201 Kinston Pike, #6-130, Knoxville, TN 37919. Charlotte received a kidney from her daughter, Jama seventeen years ago.
