Doris Darlene Cardwell Hardin, age 67 of Sevierville, passed away suddenly on Monday August 20, 2007. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Vergie (McCarter) Cardwell; and sister: Pauline Helton.
She is survived by her sons: Junior Barnes and wife Joan, Danny Barnes and wife Tammy, Robert Hardin and wife Kylea, Rodney Hardin and wife Jaime; daughters: Judy Yardley and husband Rodney, Betty McCarter and friend Rick Ferrell; grandchildren: April (Jamie) Ramsey, Tracey Barnes, Danielle (Chad) Sutton, Seth Barnes, Jaclyn and Marilyn Hardin, Chelsey, Summer, and Caitlyn Hardin, Mikey (Crystal) McCarter, Amanda Ray, Amber, Jeannie, and Austin McKalko; many great grandchildren whom she loved dearly; brothers: Clayton Cardwell, Ray Cardwell and wife Hazel; Lucille Ogle and husband I.B., Blanche Norton, and Belva Cardwell, she leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening August 22, 2007 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the chapel of the Rawlings Funeral Home with funeral services following the visitation in the Rawlings Chapel beginning at 7:00 PM with the Reverend Ed Parton officiating. Family and friends will gather in the Loveday Cemetery Thursday Morning August 23, 2007 at 10:15 for the interment service beginning at 10:30.

woman dies on newport highway
According to Sheriff Ron Seals a 67 year old Sevierville woman was killed in a single vehicle accident on Newport Hwy.
On Monday at app. 2:30PM Sheriff Seals stated that Doris D. Hardin was traveling South on Hwy 411 when her 2001 Plymouth Neon veered across the Northbound lane and left the roadway and struck an embankment.
Hardin was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the impact. The Victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sevier County Sheriff's Deputy Traffic Officer Bob Bundren investigated the accident and the investigation is ongoing at time of release as to the cause of the accident.
