Emert Ashley Cardwell, age 84 of Pittman Center, ended his earthly journey Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Morningview in Maryville, Tennessee. He was an employee of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park from 1948 until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Cardwell’s carpentry work can be seen on various buildings throughout the park and in the surrounding area.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Pearlie Cardwell; sisters Flora Cardwell, Lou Vance and Hazel Watson; brothers Columbus, Vincent and Jimmy Cardwell.

Wife of 58 years: Cumi Cardwell of Pittman Center
Daughter and son-in-law: Terry and Judy Dickenson of Walland, TN
Granddaughters: Rebecca and Jerrica Dickenson
Brothers and wives: Lon Cardwell of Nashville City, TN; Glenn and Faye Cardwell of Pittman Center
