LEWIS , IDA FAY BROWNING, R.N., CNOR - passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at her home, after a battle with cancer. She was a graduate of Knoxville General School of Nursing and worked as an Operating Room Nurse from 1956 to 1997. She served two terms as President of the Local Chapter of Association of Operating Room Nurses. Preceded in death by grandparents, Calvin and Clemmie Clinton, and mother, Mettie Browning. Survivors include husband of 47 years, Robert Lewis ; sons, Blake and Calvin Lewis ; granddaughters, Christina and Samantha Lewis ; special friends, Sue Monroe and B.J. Ray. Serving as pallbearers will be Herbert Ray, Fred Jones, Paul Sharp, Lee Wayne, Carl Edmonds, and Sam Akly. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at McCarty's Evergreen Chapel with Rev. Perry W. Austin officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Eastview Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at McCarty's Evergreen Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday and proceed to the cemetery. The Lewis family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. McCarty Evergreen Chapel, 7426 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville , in charge of arrangements
