Ruth Mae Burchell Large, age 81 of Sevierville, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006, at the Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Large was born September 19, 1924, and attended Pittman Center High School. After graduation she received her formal education at East Tennessee State University. Mrs. Large taught school in Sevier and Blount Counties for 40 years. The majority of her teaching career was spent at Seymour Primary School where she loved and touched the lives of hundreds of Sevier County children. Mrs. Large’s favorite pastimes were gardening and family genealogy searches.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Zora Burchell and brother Herman Burchell.
