Julia Ellen Mathis, born April 15, 1932, passed away on December 30, 2002 at her home in Cosby with family and friends following a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie and Will Williams; brothers and sisters, Myrtel Ford, Georgie Coggins, Abe Williams, Evelyn Erby, Petty Bone Ford, and Joe Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Vole Mathis; sons and daughters-in-law: Jerry and Eileen Clark, of Bridgeton, NJ; Wendell and Cindy Clark, of Elmer, NJ; daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie Williams and Gregg, of Bridgeton, NJ; JoAnn and Edward Rhodes, of Dandridge; Deane Galbreath, of Hartford; brother, Haskell Williams, of Newport; sister, Willa Dean Ford, of Bridgeton, NJ; sister-in-law, Grace Mathis; grandchildren, Trisha and Eric Ellison, Jerry Clark Jr., Heather and Ted Woodside, Zane Clark, Amy Conn, Sonya and Pat Shirley, April and Jason Shirley, Melina and Tim Strange; great-grandchildren, Brooke Woodside, Emily Ellison, Tyler Shirley; special friends, June Wilson, Jay Phillips, and Clay Clark; and Superior Hospice Nurses.
She will also be missed by nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003 in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating with burial 11 a.m. Thursday in Ogle Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the services.
