Joyce K. Ogle, 66, of the 300 block of Peaceful Road, died April 28, 2000, in a local hospital.
Born in Bertie County, N.C., she was the retired co-founder of Chesapeake Fence and Awning and was the former owner of Custom Ceramics. Mrs. Ogle was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Odie H. Ogle; two daughters, Joyce Higginbotham and Cherry Vaughan, both of Chesapeake; a stepdaughter, Peggy Hedrick of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; a son, Cecil Lewis Jr. of Chesapeake; a stepson, Randy Ogle of Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Annie Castelloe and Alice Bazemore, both of Ahoskie, N.C.; three brothers, Sidney King of Harrellsville, N.C., Howard King of Gertena, Va., and Rob Roy King Jr. of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister, Jean Vaughan.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Pastor Dave Libengood. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, children and grandchildren.
