Blanche O. Headrick, 70, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2002.
Mrs. Headrick was born in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee and had been a resident of the Peninsula since 1955. She graduated from the Virginia School of Cosmetology and ran a successful beauty salon for 30 years. Many of her patrons had been with her the entire time and will miss her warm smile and special touch with a scissors and comb.
She was an accomplished musician. An excellent guitar player and composer of songs. She entertained family and friends on many occasions and was a lover of music. She loved flowers and plants, and her gardens were a site to behold in the spring.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, D.O. Headrick; five children, Ronnie Headrick of Hampton, Donna Lintelman of Terre Haute, Ind., Denny Headrick of Hampton, David Headrick of Houston, Texas, and Roger Headrick of Poquoson; eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild.
She was a loving, giving person with many talents. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Peninsula Funeral Home. A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Peninsula Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
