HUFFMAN, Clarence Henry, Jr.
Hermitage, TN -- age 74
Retired Captain of Metro Police Dept., January 22, 2003 at Served his country in the Navy during WWII and was a Marine in the Korean conflict. He organized the Donelson Civil Defense Volunteer Fire, Police and First Aid Units, Rifle & Pistol Club for adults & youth. He was a co-founder of Donelsons first fully operational taxi cab company, and at one time, served as head of Donelson's Private Police & Fire Dept. In addition to other civil work, he contributed many hours to the Boys DeMolay of Donelson's Masonic Lodge. He was a Metro Police Officer for 28 years, and retired as a Captain. Preceded in death by first wife, Charlotte Reagan Huffman parents, Clarence & Mabel Huffman, Sr. Survived by wife, Jean Huffman daughters, Libby Huffman, Sharon (Danny) Stephens step-sons, Tony Hopper, Mark Hopper, Greg (Pam) Hopper eight grandchildren five great-grandchildren brother, and also best friend, George (Mohdeen) Huffman. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, at Hermitage Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Cameron, Rev. Harold White and Chaplain Matt Weaver NMPD officiating. Entombment Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family & friends will serve as Pallbearers. Family request donations be made to American Heart Association. Visitation with the family will be Friday, 2 - 4 & 6 - 9, and a Masonic service will be at 7 p.m., at HERMITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 535 Shute Lane, Hermitage, TN 615-889-0361 A Dignity Memorial Provider.
