Billie Jean Lovelace, age 68, of Dandridge, TN passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents; Rex and Vola Whaley; sisters, Mary Ruth Cooksey and Rexine Stoffle; and nephew, Eugene Justus.
She is survived by her sister, Leona Justus; step-daughters, Pam Dawson and Tina Openshaw; nephew, David Lewelling; nieces, Cathy Reed, Beth Pulley, Kathy McGill, Beckie Schults, Tammy Metcalf, Regina Banks, Susy Cogdill and Brenda Coleman. She is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews and faithful friend Edith Banks.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m., at Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 East Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11 a.m., in the Chapel at Highland South Funeral Home with David Taylor and Eddie Seals officiating. Special music will be provided by Beth Pulley and David Lewelling and New Hope Quartet from Mt. Juliet, TN. Interment will follow the service at Highland South Memorial Park.
Pall bearers will be Andrew Pulley, Andrew Schults, Vernon Banks, Brandon Stoffle, Lance Whitmire, and Dylan Whitmire. Honorary Pallbearer will be Johnny Morris. The family would like to say a special thanks to Girling Home health and the staff of Sevier County Health Care Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ms. Lovelace’s name to Pilgrim Heirs Worship Center, C/O Dillard Craig.
