Roy Adams, Age 78, of Seymour, passed away, Sunday, August 6, 2006. He was a member and Deacon of Dupont Baptist Church. He accepted Christ in 1937. He retired from ALCOA where he was a member of the 25 year club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ellen Adams, and his parents Leonard and Birdie Phillips Adams.
Survivors:
Son: Curtis Adams
Brother: Hulet Adams and wife, Faye
Sisters: Evelyn Tatum, Ella Mae Myers and husband C.J., Cloetta Bryan and husband Revis, Emma Coile and husband James, Clara Phillips and husband Jonah.
Several Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Dupont Baptist Church Building Fund.
Funeral Service 7 PM Tuesday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Ronnie White and Pete Lamon officiating. Interment 11AM Wednesday in Dupont Cemetery. In the second wreck, a 78-year-old Seymour man died when his pickup overturned on DuPont Road.Roy N. Adams was driving north on DuPont Road when the right front wheel of his truck struck a bank as he was negotiating a curve, causing the truck to turn onto its top. Adams died as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to THP. No one in the other vehicles was injured, according to THP.
