(August 3, 1940 - August 5, 2015) James White, age 75 of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. He was a member of Fugate Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Beatrice White; brother, Raymond White; sister, Reba White; step-daughter, Tammy Hembree; and grandson, Colton McNabb. He is survived by his wife, Sharon White of Newport; step- daughters, Lori Messer and Belinda (Sean) Jamerson all of Newport, and Julie (Tony) Hawks of Cosby; brother, Will and Eloise White of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; sisters, Deloris White of Mount Sterling, North Carolina, Thelma Mathis of Sylva North Carolina, and Judy Nichols of Newport; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2015 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Caney Caldwell officiating.
