J. F. Taylor, age 65, of Newport, passed away Monday, March 6, 2006 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. J. F. served 6 years in the National Guard. He was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Union Camp. He was a member of the Poor Boys Rod and Custom Car Club, and was an avid bowler. J. F. enjoyed decorating at Christmas and people appreciated his decorations. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Taylor of Newport; children, Marty Taylor and wife Laurie of New Market, Scott Taylor of Strawberry Plains, Wayne Webb and wife Melissa of Rutledge, Sherry Norris and husband John of Newport; brothers, Danny Taylor and wife Doris of Murphy, NC, Arvine Taylor of Newport, Zan Taylor and wife Shawna of Newport and Fred Taylor and wife Irene of Dandridge; sisters, Emma Reece and husband Allen of Jefferson City, Nettie Zimmer of White Pine, Brenda Lane and husband J.R. of Newport; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; special friends Robert and Velma Fox, Wayne and Linda Gilliland, Frankie and Charlotte Cooper; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be held 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tom Mooty officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 9, 2006 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, where Troop E 278th , will provide graveside services. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
