(November 14, 1966 - May 7, 2010) Michael Darren Smith, age 43, of Newport, passed away, Friday, May 7, 2010 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billye Smith; grandparents, Hazel and Jim Smith, Walter and Beulah Gibbs. He is survived by his father, James Tommy Smith of Newport; daughter, Arianne Smith of Greeneville; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Robin Smith of Bybee; sister, Tammy Blazer of Newport; brother-in-law, Dana Blazer of Parrottsville; nieces and nephew, Brittany, Haley, Hannah, Elizabeth and Jared; and several; aunts, uncles and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Sunday, May 9, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin Wine and Rev. Tommy Ball officiating. Burial will be 10 am, Monday, May 10, 2010 in Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
