  1. 1.  Pleasant William Wesley Lamon was born 6 Nov 1882, Sevier County, Tennessee; died 21 Nov 1968; was buried Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County, Tennessee.

    Notes:

    When Wesley was 21, he left home and walked to Sevierville to enter Murphy College. There, he studied and worked for his room and board. He also went to University of Tennessee and was qualified to teach. He taught for several years.

    After marrying, they operated a general country store for a number of years. Together, Wesley and Maggie built a home on Marshall Heights in Sevierville, Tennessee and moved there on 22 February 1922. They lived in on room while they finished their home. P. W. continued to teach and sell pictures. Later he worked for K. Rawling and Co. Still later he operated a Maytag Store of his own on Bruce Street, Sevierville, Tennessee. He was a deacon in the Sevierville Baptist Church.

    Pleasant married Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Vance 23 Jul 1913. Margaret (daughter of Samuel L. "Sam" Vance and Martha Elizabeth Kennedy) was born 4 Dec 1879, New Market, Tennessee; died 20 Apr 1944; was buried Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet]
