10. | James M. Huskey was born 14 Feb 1795, Edgefield County, South Carolina (son of Isaac Huskey and Jane Miller); died 15 Sep 1845, Bird Township, MaCoupin County, Illinois; was buried Bird Township, MaCoupin County, Illinois. Notes: James Huskey came to Sevier County, Tennessee in 1805. He moved to Perry County, Alabama in the fall of 1816. He sold his farm and slaves (9 miles from Mobile Alabama) and came to Illinois, alone, in 1832 and then he returned to Alabama and brought his wife and 10 children back to Illinois with him by wagon train in March, 1834. In the spring of 1834 he settled on Section 5 near the present residence of Thomas Joiner. He built his first brick house in the spring of 1835 opposite the Thomas Joiner House. In 1836 James built the Methodist church building on his property. The neighbors provided the pews. At one time there was a large membership at this church. James married Rhoda Reagan 1813, Sevier County, Tennessee. Rhoda (daughter of Timothy Reagan and Elizabeth Trigg) was born 20 Mar 1796, Sevier County, Tennessee; died 10 Oct 1855, Bird Township, MaCoupin, Illinois; was buried , MaCoupin, Illinois.
