Brother Friedrich Jauch and his wife Anna both residing on Robey Street in an area in Chicago since the community was founded, celebrated on May 28, 1914, surrounded by their children and grandchildren in Oak Park, IL, a rare Golden anniversary. The festivities were a (speech, toast ?) by a leader? on/to which Brother and Sister Jauch reciprocated and at the same time issued a sincere admonition to their children and grandchildren to live a life that is blessed by God. After this followed singing and music mostly done by the great-grandchildren. At the end followed a solid meal with much food that had been prepared by the children. Brother and Sister Jauch were born in Schwennigen a. Neckar, Wurttemburg. In 1864 they travelled to Central City, IL where they were married. Since 1870 they lived in the Chicago area. Under the effectiveness of the Rev. Mulsinger they both became Christians. In the Maxwell area, Brother Jauch served for 17 years as the children's Sunday School Superintendent. He helped start the Ebenezer (now Brighton Park) and Roben Street Sunday School. The married life of the celebrating couple was blessed with nine children. Of the nine only two sons and three daughters live near the parents with their families. In the evening/twilight of their lives, they are thinking of living with their daughter and son-in-law W. Klebe. That is where they want to live out their lives. May it be said about them "They lived a full life".
