1830 - 1919 (88 years)| 1. | Robert Aiken Montgomery was born 8 Nov 1830, Tennessee (son of William Montgomery and Elizabeth Winton); died 19 Jun 1919; was buried Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County, Tennessee. Notes: They lived on the old Alexander Montgomery estate in Sevier County, Tennessee and raised a large family. He was a Captain in a Union Calvary company during the Civil War, and was recommended for promotion to Major by his commanding officer, Col. Jo Parsons of the 9th Regiment of Tennessee Calvary on 21 September 1963. He was greatly interested in the activities of old Shiloh Methodist Church during his entire long life. Robert married Elizabeth McMahan 10 Oct 1861. Elizabeth (daughter of Redmond McMahan and Sarah Emert) was born 26 Aug 1843, Tennessee; died 9 Oct 1921; was buried Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] Children:

| 2. | William Montgomery was born 12 Jan 1788, Washington County, North Carolina (son of Alexander Montgomery and Margaret Napier); died 29 Mar 1840; was buried Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County, Tennessee. Notes: Captain William Montgomery served in the War of 1812, and this act is inscribed on his grave marker in Shiloh Cemetery. The Sevier County Court Minute Book, 1856-1867 records that on 2 March 1857 the State of Tennessee issued Land Warrant No. 45506 for 80 acres of land to G. W. Montgomery, B. H. Montgomery, and W. W. Montgomery, William's sons, "in consideration of the Service of William Montgomery deceased, who served as captain in the War of 1812." William married Elizabeth Winton 2 Apr 1824.
