    Notes:

Daniel Emmert was probably born in Greene County, North Carolina which is now
Tennessee. A record dated 1790 places the family there at that time.

He and his wife Sarah spent their lives in the Emert Cove area of Sevier
County, Tennessee. They were listed in the 1830 Federal Census of Sevier
County, Tennessee. There were eight children in the household: one male and
three females age 5 and under; one male and one female age 5-10; and one male
and one female aged 10-15. Also there was an older woman in the age bracket
70-80. Apparently this was the mother of Daniel Emmert.

Daniel Emmert filed eleven entries for land in Sevier County, Tennessee. (1)
entry dated 08 August 1824 for five acres; (2) entry dated 28 August 1829 for
fifty acres; (3) entry dated 27 February 1832 for 100 acres; (4) entries dated
    22 November 1836 for 50 and 400 acres; (5) entries dated 23 NOvember 1836 for
    30 and 600 acres; (6) entry dated 02 June 1837 for 300 acres; (7) entries dated
    23 June 1838 for 100 and 400 acres; and (8) entry dated 17 December 1839 for
150 acres. He had received land grants for all of these entries from the State
of Tennessee ... a total of 2,185 acres of land.

In 1840 Daniel "Emit" and his wife were again listed in the Federal census of Sevier
County, Tennessee. They had eight children in the household still at home:
    one male age 5-10; one male and two females age 10-15; two females aged 15-20;
one male and one female age 20-30. Also there was an elderly woman whose age
bracket was 80-90. This was the mother of Daniel Emmert.

Daniel and his wife Sarah gave the lands for the Emert Cove Methodist Episcopal
Church and the Emert Cove Cemetery in the Emert Cove of Sevier County,
Tennessee. He mad a deed on 13 April 1846 to "Trustees of Emert Cove Methodist
