  1. 10.  John Clabaugh, Jr. was born 1750, Frederick County, Maryland (son of John Clabaugh); died Aft 1830, Middle Creek, Sevier County, Tennessee.

    Notes:

    John Clabaugh signed the Oath of Fidelity in 1777 in Montgomery County, but no record of John serving in the Revolutionary War has been found. Also taking the Oath of Allegience was Charles Clabaough.

    John Clabaugh is listed in the 1790 Maryland Census. John and four males under the age of sixteen are listed with four females, one of them being Margaret. In the 1796 presidential election Charles, John and Jacob Clabaugh are listed on the poll. John and his family are also listed in the 1800 Maryland census.

    Sometime after 1800 John and his brother Charles Clabaugh and two of John's brothers in-law, Samuel and James Ferguson headed for Tennessee.

    On February 16, 1807, John Clabaugh Jr. had 126 acres on Middle Creek surveyed. On February 24, 1807, brother Charles had 219 acres surveyed on Middle Creek. On September 29, 1808 John Clabaugh's patent was issued by Governor John Sevier and Charles's patent was issued the next day.

    John Clabaugh Jr. signed a petition to the Tennessee General Assembly in 1813. This is the last record found.
