MARY BARRETT MOORE, "A city of pure gold and clear as glass, walls made of jasper, gates made from pearls, a place with no darkness and always of a pure, white light. A river of water of life, a tree of life whose leaves heal every illness, and never a need for a lamp or a sun". This is what Mary Rae Barrett Moore has been seeing since the morning of October 15, 2008. "Mammaw Mary," as she was called by Ella Jane, Asha, Josiah Carter, Emily, Sarah and FaithAnn Hutsell, and Matthew Moore, was survived by her daughter, Libby Moore; granddaughter, Breanna Moore; brother, Jack (Edith) Barrett; brother-in-law, Curt (Mildred) Moore; brother-in-law, Turney Eslinger; special extended family, Paulette Worth, Jesse and Amy Carter, Justin Carter, Zac and Ashley Carter; and several nieces and nephews. She was a retired private duty sitter when she died at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Moore, Jr.; parents, Frank and Jessie Barrett; and numerous brothers and sisters. Now she waits for her family with Jesus. She'll be missed, but she is truly in a better place now. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 from Hills Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hutsell officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Pallbearers will be Jesse, Justin and Zac Carter, Warren Stinson, Archie Mitchell and Billy Errington. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The American Cancer Society, c/o Mary Ellen Darby, 1321 Laurel Hills Circle, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
