Mr. Euel Denmon Smith, 68, of Hartford, passed away Friday, October 6, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center.He was a retired electrician from Carolina Power and Light. He joins two sons, Denmon Ray and Freddy; his father, Euel; mother, Cleo; brother, Maurice; and sister, Gladys. He leaves a daughter, Marcie Smith, of Newport; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Terrence Smith, of Del Rio, and Teresa and Tim Solomon, of Newport; grandson, Cory Smith, of Newport; granddaughters, Chesney Smith, Maggie Gregg, Chloe Ramsey, and Reese Smith, all of Newport; his faithful companion of twenty years, Carolyn Gregg, of Hartford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Ralph Stokely, of Newport; Aileen and Willie Stokely, of Hartford; Shirley and Burl Roberts, of Newport; and Marilyn and Charles Manes, all of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Evangline, of Hartford. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Willis and the Rev. Fred Cagle officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Clark Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. interment. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. The family requests that those who wish, in lieu of flowers, may make a memorial donation to New Prospect Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Arthur and Barbara Willis, 200 Manning Chapel Road, Del Rio, TN 37727. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
